MoMa, Oktoberfest, WestPoint & Back to School

Joel is in Heaven - Lombardi's Pizza in Little Italy NYC. This is the longest pizzeria in continuous operation in the USA. The pizza is baked in coal burning stoves with the most incredible fresh ingredients.

More Little Italy, NYC. At a street festival.

Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) in NYC. Campbell's soup by Andy Warhol.

MoMa - girls point out Idaho and New York.

MoMa - American Flag by Jasper Johns made of newspapers from the 1950's

Girls were excited to see this classic made popular in their Olivia picture book.

Tessa recognized this Salvador Dali piece from Looney Toons that melts Bugs when he ran through the painting.

Dagny says they copied this painting in art at school and was excited to see this original Van Gough.

Looks like a swarm from a distance, but all the Museum goers are encouraged to stand against the wall and a volunteer marks how tall they are and writes your name and date on the wall. Very cool! We are all now a mark on the wall included in this art.

Look carefully and you can see Dagny's name on the wall at MoMa. Upper middle part of picture.

Tessa's name on the Wall in MoMa.

Oktoberfest at Black Forest Restaurant in Highland Mills, NY. Joel loves to remember his time in Germany with a good ole Oktoberfest. The kids were not very happy with the German Food, but they like watching the dancers (they took like 50 pictures of them).

German dancers that the kids loved watching.

Fireworks at West Point MA, NY by our house. Final outdoor concert of their band on Labor day weekend.

West Point Jazz Knights band. One of three West Point bands we got to listen to. This is the second year we went to this event - we love it!

Two small red dots on the cannon are Dagny and Tessa. This cannon is fired for the 1812 Overture at this concert - just prior to the fireworks.

Called the "Million Dollar View" from West Point for a reason. Amazing! Great view of the fireworks too!

First Day of School. Dagny in fifth grade and Tessa in third grade - they are so excited to go back to school! Daddy is being funny taking their picture by the Water tower next to our house.

The traditional Daddy picture of the first day of school with the flag outside our house.
