Halloween Fun and the Yankees take the Series

The girls have been begging for a Halloween Party for years and since this year it was on a Saturday - we decided to have a party. The girls were told they could each invite 4 friends. Yes - count the picture - there are more than ten kids. NY schools have not done anything for their counting abilities... We made it work and everyone had tons of fun and said this was the best party EVER!!! Even better than birthday parties - too funny. Halloween is just a wonderful theme and there are great game ideas on line.

Blame the Twilight craze - but Dagny and a bunch of her girlfriends dressed up as vampires this year - luckily they were the Twilight vamps and not the Sookie vampires... PG vamps are better for kids than HBO vamps. She loves her candy! They hid it well too - I have not been able to find it since - can't wait to find it next Halloween.

Ready to hit the neighborhood for Trick or Treating. Tessa - the Candy Corn Witch and Dagny the Vampiress.

Ghost Cupcake decorating from the Halloween Party - yes - her hair is wet from her mommy not paying attention that her and her best friend Dristin went back downstairs to play in the apple bobbing bucket - unattended for a moment and look what happens...

Who knew the most fun at a Halloween Party is playing in toilet paper left over from the "wrapping mummies" game. They could have done this for the entire two hours - they were so much fun to watch - it was worth the clean-up - and nothing got broken...

The girls insisted on apple bobbing. After a dozen kids went prior to Tessa - she was the first to pick up the apple by the stem - smarty pants.

Dagny wast he first to apple bob and caught an apple in like two seconds - incredible!

Tessa's team won the mummy wrapping contest - Trinity was an incredible sport being the mummy!

The candy toss was a lot of fun to watch the kids try to get miniature candy bars in the plastic trick or treat pumpkin buckets.

Joel outside Yankee Stadium - Inaugural season for this Stadium and the Yankees made it to the World Series playing the Philadelphia Phillies. Joel went to games 2 and 6 which were the first games they won and the last game they won - to win the series. Game 2 he went by himself to fulfil a "Bucket List" item and Game 6 Josh Houchin (Robbin's fiance) flew from Boise to see the historic win of the 2009 World Series.

Game 2 - Joel had incredible tickets behind first base. These were taken from his seat,

Another view of Joel's great seats at the World Series - Game 2. Since Joel was a kid he has been a huge Yankees fan. It is one of the reasons he was open to move to NY. It is great we were here from him to see them win the World Series.

Dagny's amazing "Trick or Treat" pumpkin that she cleaned and carved all by herself!

Tessa's Kitty Cat pumpkin carving that she did all by herself. The jack-o-lanterns looked great on our doorstep and they did not get vandalized - another great reason to be in a gated community.

The fun job of cleaning the guts out of the pumpkins. We saved the seeds and baked them. The kids love pumpkin seeds.

This is the first year we made Carmel apples. The girls were fascinated with the concept. Tessa is a trooper in this picture - after she dripped hot Carmel on her hand :( She would not even eat an apple after that (she is not a big sweet eater). The rest of the family enjoyed eating the Carmel Apples.

Tessa's best friend, Dristin, invited us to the Museum Village for their Halloween activities. It was so much fun. This kids wore their costumes and did a spooky scavenger hunt in the various buildings at the village. We also went on a haunted hay ride and got our palms read (the kids loved that) and had hot chocolate and snacks in front of the fire. Really neat evening!

Wow! LOVE Joels seats! Cool that Josh got to come up. We have had a couple Friday the 13th parties with the kids. The first one we watched Watchers in the Woods--still creepy as an adult! hehe We are still hoping that we will be able to visit you guys in NYC. Pregnancy is going well. We reached 34 weeks. I think he will be here in the next 2 weeks. Will keep you posted! Love ya
