The kids competed in the school district Odyssey of the Mind Spontaneous Night. Their elementary school has three teams of seven. They had to do two auditions with over 100 kids competing for the 21 spots in OM for their school. We were all so excited that they were both selected. They are on different teams. Spontaneous Night is in preparation for the National Competition the end of February. OM has been one of their favorite after school activities two days a week and will go to four days a week for the next couple of months. It is a great way to learn about creativity and perform in front of people.

We had a wonderful New Year's Day Dinner with Tom and Laura at Five Napkin Burger in Hells Kitchen. What an incredible burger! We highly recommend you go! It was so great to catch up with our friends. Our thirteenth wedding anniversary was also that day.

The perfect Christmas day activity of playing our new Wii game - Lego Rock Band. Joel is such a pro (he has the many hours logged and sore wrist to prove it) that he can play with Pixie on his lap. Can you believe she looked annoyed at him when he moved? Cats feel like she owns everything in the house - even the people.

Look at the Rock Star pose of holding the Microphone. We are still looking for the recorder part of rock band. Tessa plays a mean "Hot Cross Buns" on the recorder...

Is she singing or just posing for the picture. Dagny may do better as a model than a rock star singer - whatever she does she will be a smash!

The girls both got cameras for Christmas. The pictures they took are great - including a dozen pictures like the one below of their favorite Christmas gifts - Furr Real baby pig and puppy (they did not get many "toys" this year).

New Christmas pajamas - modeled in front of our Christmas Tree. Merry Christmas to all!

They love each other, their new "pets" and Christmas!

Not sure why we bought Pixie new kitty toys and kitty treats (those were a 4-H fund raiser) when she loves playing with trash.

American Girl items are always a big hit. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!

Thank you for Grandma sending Scentsy products. Luckily they smell good together, since many times we have three going in our house at the same time. The kids love them! Tessa plugged it in - in the family room and decided to move it with the melted wax in it - not a wise choice... Luckily she did not get burned, but not sure how to get the wax out of the carpet, but it sure smells great when ever we vacuum.

Scentsy smelly wax for Dagny to use in her green burner! She like the cookie on the best - what a surprise from my sweet tooth girl and Tessa preferred the Berry one (she loves fruits).

Tessa told me she wanted Scooby Doo Mystery Begins and Play Doh (she is 8 and still upset daddy did not move her play doh from Idaho). I was so excited to get off with and inexpensive Christmas until she told me she did want other things too...

Cute pics! Totally done the wax in the carpet before. Just put a paper towel over it and iron it! Pretty simple.
